In Upper Egypt, we have begun an educational program, the beginnings of our own school there for the Deaf. This school teaches Deaf children and illiterate Deaf adults, providing basic education and life skills.

In 2023 we started a clothing factory for the Deaf as a self-sustainability project. The factory PRODUCES underwear and other garments and employs 25 Deaf people. In a country where 85% of the population are Muslim, it is hoped that this project will not only provide an income for a desperately poor and marginalised Deaf Christian community but raise the dignity of the Deaf in the community as well.
